Students/Articling Program

Campbell Lea, a mid-size firm, provides a “balanced lifestyle” focused environment for the law students selected to progress through our summer student and articling programs. We have designed our process to facilitate exposure to a wide variety of areas of law, allowing for the development of the skills and knowledge essential to one’s eventual chosen focus of practice. Our students and clerks, recruited for their academic competence, people skills and work ethic, also enjoy an open-door policy which ensures access to all members of the firm.

Articled clerks are paid a salary of $3,125.00 per month ($37,500/yr.) and are offered medical, prescription drug, and dental and life insurance coverage. Campbell Lea also pays the following for our articled clerks:

a) Articling enrollment fee;
b) Bar Admission Course materials;
c) Bar Admission fees;
d) Salary during Bar Admission Course;
e) 2 weeks paid vacation; and
f) Parking.

Interviews for articling students are conducted during the days scheduled annually by both Dalhousie University and the University of New Brunswick. On request, we will interview students from other universities at our offices in Charlottetown. If you are interested in applying, or have questions regarding our summer student / articling program, please contact our Business Manager via email or regular mail as per the addresses noted on our Contact page.
