Sean M. Kelly
Sean graduated with a BA in anthropology and economics from UPEI in 1995 and completed his law degree from UNB in 2000. He served as an articled clerk to the Supreme Court of PEI and completed his articles at Campbell Lea before being called to the bar of PEI in 2001. He was also called to the bar of the Yukon in 2004 and BC in 2006.
Sean practiced with Campbell Lea for a few years before he left PEI to join the litigation group of a large international law firm. There he acted as counsel for clients of all sizes, including some of the largest corporations, banks, and insurance companies as well as several self-governing First Nations. He eventually opened his own litigation and dispute boutique law firm in Kelowna, British Columbia before returning to Campbell Lea. Sean has extensive experience advising clients involved in complex disputes related to business, land, insurance and governance. Sean helps clients resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and through hearings. He has appeared in the courts of PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Yukon, BC, Alberta and the Federal Court of Canada. He has also appeared before numerous provincial and federal boards and tribunals. Sean has served on the board of several non-profit societies, including the Okanagan section of the Alpine Club of Canada and the Mountain Bikers of the Central Okanagan. Sean is also active in the Canadian Bar Association, a past chair of the civil litigation Okanagan subsection and a member of the CBA Provincial Council for British Columbia. Away from the office Sean enjoys spending time with his family and friends and he is a relentless amateur musician. |
